The room was well presented and comfortable. The triple room provided adequate sleeping arrangements for the three of us. Good facilities and lovely full English breakfast included.
Due to wedding reception on the Saturday the restaurant wasn't available to other guests. However from the internet reviews I had read of the hotel it was not a surprise. It did not spoil our break we just went to a restaurant down the road.
the staff were very friendly and helpful providing ramps for my disabled mother to get into the front door.
The family room we had was a good size for myself, my husband and our two children, we were able to order warm milk for the children at bedtime. We were able to have our breakfast earlier than normal and delivered to our room as we had to catch the ferry from portsmouth. There was a good selection of items available for breakfast. The garden area outside was a good place for the children to run around before bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only about 10 minutes from portsmouth so a good place to stay if you are catching a ferry.
The main restaurant was not open during our stay as there was a function on. We were able to order food at the bar which we ate outside however there was a long wait when we ordered our desserts as the staff forgot about them. The choices on the bar menu were limited with no healthy or childrens options available. The food in the bar and the restaurant is quite expensive. The hotel car park is very small and you may have trouble parking if there is a function on or the hotel is busy. The decor of the rooms is quite dated with sheets and blankets on the beds.
Although so close to the centre if Fareham it felt that you were in the countryside with the well kept garden, trees and of course the chickens.
Free parking, free wifi, easy access to main routes, in small town centre - plenty of shops and very pleasant staff/service.
Great location near to good range of bars & restaurants, and a supermarket within short driving distance. Communication between hotel staff was very good - we had an issue with our room and spoke to 3 or 4 different staff members but didn't have to explain each time.
The rooms were very noisy - we could hear everything next to and above us. The rooms were also very basic & more like a chain hotel.
very clean and comfortable. good breakfast. helpful staff
noise from a party that went on until midnight.
Its a typical english hotel with real english breakfast.
Handy location between portsmouth & southamton.
The position of the Hotel is perfect for acess to Fareham centre, Bus Station, Railway Station, Banks and Shops. The Ground Floor room was very quiet, with no noise even from a Wedding Party taking place on one of our night stays.
I did not like the late opening on some evenings of the Richmond Restaurant
The overall cleanliness and tidiness was impressive and the full English breakfast was excellent.
Bar was too upmarket for my taste with no real choice of draught English beer.
This Hotel was very near to the Evening Function which we attended. The Hotel was faultness and the staff were very friendy. We requested a quiet room and we were amazed that our room was just so. It was lovely
The room we stayed in was a little cramped. Our view from the room was a brick wall. Room design was poor, if you were staying for a week there is not much storage space, draws were few with one small wardrobe. The bathroom is a reasonable size but needs to be re-designed the shower is not user friendly.
Lack of real ale, possibly encourages customers to drink at the pub opposite!
This hotel is past its sell by date. The layout upstairs is a 'rabbit warren' conversion, with faded decor and a budget feel. The cooked breakfast was reminiscent of a transport cafe circa 1975, greasy, eggs curling, overdone dried out bacon. The only redeeming feature is that this hotel is not as bad as than the one by the roundabout.
Breakfast over by 9 o'clock. As on holiday break would have liked breakfast to be available until10. It is at other hotels I have stayed at.
